HINDUISM
Hindus see right through the material world to the divine world. The individual is an illusion. The Supreme Self – “Om” – is the only Being.
BUDDHISM Buddha taught that there is no abiding reality. Nothing lasts. An eightfold path leads to salvation, Nirvana.
ZEN BUDDHISM
Your Zen Master ("Ah, Glasshoppah ...") teaches you to clear your mind of analytical thought. Only in stillness can the lake reflect the stars.
TAOISM The Tao is the force that gives life, order and meaning to all reality. Without effort, like a flowing river, everything is accomplished.
CONFUCIANISM
Confucius saw total harmony between the cosmic and the human. Cosmic disturbances have human causes. Confucians thought they understood the Tao and could influence events.
